First of all you are going to have to download open office, i am going to show you how to install it too. you will have to download it from the internet, it is free of charge and i have put the link right here for you:
Step 1) download Open office and save it to the desktop.
Step 2) I have windows 7 so if this message pops up on your computer then press yes and it will accept the procedure, it is just for security.
Step 3) A download message will pop up, just follow the steps and click next and then unpack. Unpacking will get the software together so you can install it. I have put some pictures on what it will look like.
Step 4) after this open the folder where it has unpacked and then click on setup and it will get ready to install. Another security will pop up on windows vista and 7 click yes. It may not say this one Windows XP.
Step 5) Follow the steps, click next, enter a user name and what you call your computer.
Step 6) Click on Typical because this will automatically install it on your computer, it is faster and it will choose which one is the best for it and click next.
Step 7) The next steps are really easy all you have to do is follow the steps and click next. (I have some pics of what it will look like)
Step 8) It has now been installed and it is ready to use, click finish and Enjoy.
